Freezing time at high speed

Wouldn’t it be great to freeze time at the exact moment to see a rain drop create splash? Every day little things like this surround us and most of the time we don’t even realize, most of the time because they happen at such a high speed we can’t see them.

We decided to rig up a sensor that would detect the exact moment when the drop created the splash. We pointed a laser light at a Light Dependent Resistor so that it would read its maximum value. Read more …

A temporary substitute

The other day I walked by the London Camera Exchange (a great second hand camera shop in Lincoln) and saw this little beauty in the shop window (£169,90). I don’t know if it’s only me, but I think it really stuck out from the Fujifilms, Canons and other bridge cameras next to it, and although it was towards the back I saw it straight away.

Since my Canon equipment was stolen in December, I’ve been thinking of just getting a cheap simple compact camera basically to keep documenting my work.
